Therapy Services is a broad term as it can be used to refer to a variety of tasks. There are various ways that therapeutic input can take place, depending on presenting need, and budgets. Typically the broadest division that can be made is between direct, and indirect input.

Direct Therapy Services

Direct Therapy input is essentially the face to face component, involving 1:1 therapy sessions.

I’m adaptive to individuals’ needs and can be flexible in location and structure of sessions. The aim is to create an environment where change and progress don’t feel forced. Not all therapy is a client and therapist sitting down at a table with flash cards doing drills. In fact I find that often to be the least motivating and least client centred.

Indirect Therapy Services

Indirect work is often a vital component to good outcomes, but can be forgotten about. This support can make all the difference to enhance or expedite progress.

Generally, indirect work includes report writing, giving advice and liaison, delivering training to family members or professionals, developing and providing therapy programmes which will be carried out by family or other professionals outside of therapist-led sessions (e.g. teachers, teaching assistants, carers, etc), and providing the resources with which to complete these programmes.

As mentioned above, indirect provision can be the push required to aid direct input to progress more effectively. On occasion however, these indirect elements of input can also serve to provide a means of beginning to address a therapeutic need, even if direct therapy is not financially viable for an individual at a particular time.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss your situation. We can find out whether direct or indirect support, or a combination of the two, would be best suited for your needs.

Services available and fees

Initial 30 minute phone consultation to book and discuss service needs – Free
Initial brief email or telephone consultations and general administrative email or telephone communications. Clients will always be informed prior to any fees being added so that they can choose how to proceed
Direct Speech and Language Therapy 1:1 – From £90 per hour

Direct Therapy is the most common format of support and / or treatment for communication difficulties of all kinds.

These sessions can be formulated to suit a range of need & are pre-quoted with individual circumstances in mind.
Direct Sensory Integration Therapy 1:1 – From £95 per hour

Sensory Integration Therapy can be formatted in many ways to suit the space available in someone’s environment.

Communication/swallowing Assessment and Advice – From £260

The assessment and advice package is more informal. The feedback at the end of the assessment will not be formatted into a report and will focus more on practical suggestions for improvement than describing presentation in great detail.

Communication/swallowing Assessment and Report – from £360

Typically, a straight forward assessment of communication or swallowing may take 2 hours. The subsequent report would typically take 2 hours+ to write.

Occasionally for complex cases, more time is needed for assessment and report writing to cover the depth of presentation. Clients will be advised as soon as it becomes evident that additional time may be required in order to complete assessment and reports to the desired levels.

You may then decide whether to proceed with the original requested level of reporting, which may incur additional cost, or whether to constrict the assessment and report’s detail to conform with the original quoted time and costing.

Communication Assessment and Report for EHCP and other formal purposes – From £550

A report for more formal purposes, such as Education Health and Care Plan creation or review, or Tribunal, or other court related proceedings, is more detailed than the standard reports in order to be as specific as possible for use in a legal setting.

Sensory Integration assessment and report – From £850

Sensory Integration is a complicated intricate area of practice for which I have received specialist training. These assessments can include a variety of formal or informal assessment methods in order to get a full understanding of a person’s sensory system and needs. The timescale of this can vary.

Sensory Integration is considered a gold-standard approach by many, and meeting an individual’s sensory needs can make all the difference to their ability to regulate themselves in order to communicate and otherwise interact with the world around them without undue distress.

ADOS Assessment – £850

The Autism Diagnostic Observation Scale assessment can prove very useful towards obtaining a diagnosis of Autism. Accompanied by other clinical assessment, it can indicate if a person’s presentation could meet the criteria for an Autism diagnosis.

ADI-R Interview – £850

The Autism Diagnostic Inventory – Revised is an interview style assessment which is conducted via conversation with the parents or caregivers of a person seeking an Autism assessment. Even if the person is an adult or is very cognitively able to self report, the parent or caregiver is ideally consulted to be able to shed light on the behaviours and mannerisms of the person when they were very young – a time that their own memory may be less reliable in reporting on. This interview assessment can be an invaluable component of a comprehensive Autism assessment.

Travel costs – 45p per mile. (not subject to addition of tax)

Should I need to undertake travel outside of the South Yorkshire area, a travel charge will be applied to cover travel expenses

Corporate Services

Training

Training for community, or corporate groups can often be an excellent way to support a more consistent approach to meet a person’s therapeutic needs. Direct therapy is only one part of the puzzle most of the time. By using a holilstic approach through empowering and upskilling the people around an individual to make adaptations to the environment and their own approaches, better outcomes can be achieved.

Group training sessions can be organised for groups of sizes between 5-25 persons in the following areas:

  • Communication
  • Autism
  • Dysphagia awareness
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Sensory Needs

Training sessions can occur in person at a venue of the customer’s choosing and organisation (subject to travel expense charges where applicable), or via Zoom or Microsoft Teams.

Digital training sessions can occur via Zoom or Teams or other video calling platform

In-person training sessions will be charged as either half-day or full day, depending on the distance travelled to attend an in-person training venue, or the number of training sessions booked.

Costing examples (not exhaustive, subject to specific calculations on a case by case basis):

One 2-3 hour session of Communication training in Nottingham would be charged as a half day plus travel expenses, as travel is less than 1 hour each way.

One 2-3 hour session of Communication training in Birmingham would be charged as a full day plus travel expenses, as travel is over 1 hour each way and would result in more than a half day spent in total.

Two 2-3 hour sessions of Communication training in Doncaster would be charged as a full day plus travel expenses, and laid out as a morning session and an afternoon session.

Two 2-3 hour sessions of Communication training in Whitby would be charged as a full day plus travel expenses, including long-day fee as travel is over 1.5 hours each way, and laid out as a morning session and an afternoon session.

One 2-3 hour session of Zoom or Microsoft Teams training would be charged as a half day digital

A full day of  could potentially accommodate up to three sessions, and would be charged as a full day digital.

If planned economically, utilising the maximum attendees able to be accommodated, and following a Zoom or Microsoft Teams option of delivery, there is potential to train up to 75 people for the cost of a full-day training package.

Costs:

Half day digital: £350

Full day digital: £675

Half day in-person: £650

Full day in-person: £975

Please get in touch to liaise about training package needs.

There is potential for larger corporate packages to be developed collaboratively to meet specific requirements for establishments with larger staffing numbers. Larger bespoke packages could provide a better value per head than purchase of basic half or full day packages.

Retainer training contracts, establishing regular sessions spread through the year, including annual refresher sessions, are also available for discussion and development.

These contracts hold the potential to be of further economic benefit to a company, ensuring consistency of training provision and able to be developed to accommodate all staff throughout the year at negotiable intervals, rather than trying to facilitate all staff to be available during a short time period for one or two one-off training days.

Consultancy

Consultancy can include a half or full day’s attendance at an establishment (School, hospital, residential home, office setting, etc) and could include any tasks that might be reasonably possible to be completed within that time frame, including therapy sessions, the 1:1 components of basic assessments (write-ups would be charged additionally as required), liaison with staff and planning of therapy programmes, supervision and support for staff on clinical matters, attendance at meetings, etc.

Full day: £650

Half day: £400

Consultancy annual contract- 45 full days per year attendance, to allow for therapist and service leave and holiday periods, typically structured on a set day per week. Billed up front or in quarterly instalments, contract renews and can be reviewed annually: £16,000. (savings of £13,250 compared to full day ad hoc pricing)
